Liverpool reportedly hold a “huge advantage” in the race to sign Vasco da Gama wonderkid Talles Magno, according to Brazil’s Esporte News Mundo.
The 18-year-old has been deemed “the biggest revelation in Vasco’s history in recent years” (Bolavip) and has already made 17 first-team appearances, according to Transfermarkt.
According to ENM, Jurgen Klopp’s Reds are one of numerous suitors interested in the forward, along with Juventus, Lazio, Roma, Benfica, Sevilla and Bayer Leverkusen.

However, the outlet has singled out Liverpool as the club with an advantage over the others, “just like Gabriel Jesus wanted Manchester City. And Vinicius Junior wanted Real Madrid.”
This suggests that Magno would be most keen on an elite club regularly challenging for silverware domestically and in the Champions League.
ENM also claims that any deal involving Magno will be handled by agent Giuliano Bertolucci, who is experienced in negotiating deals involving Brazilian players, and “everything is moving fast” in terms of negotiations.
It is also understood that officials from Barcelona, Chelsea, AC Milan, Paris Saint-Germain, PSV Eindhoven and Real Madrid are trying their luck with regards to the “special player”, despite arriving “late” to the table.
Several days ago, Brazilian publication Yahoo Esportes reported that Liverpool made contact with Magno’s club to see if a deal can be done this summer.
TBR View:
Magno is undoubtedly a player with much potential, The Guardian naming him in their top 60 talents for the next generation, hailing him as a “breath of fresh air”.
As well as his exploits for Vasco, he has also scored three goals in six appearances for Brazil Under-17s and has been compared to Roberto Firmino by The Mirror.
“The tall forward is regarded as one of the most exciting emerging talents in Brazil, and can play a role similar to that of Roberto Firmino at Anfield,” said the outlet.
