Report: Liverpool have now made their move to sign the 'best midfielder in the world'
Liverpool have now made their move to sign Nicolo Barella from Inter Milan, Calcio Mercato state.
Liverpool have been linked with a move for Barella throughout the summer so far, and reports in Italy now claim that Jurgen Klopp’s side’s interest has stepped up a gear in recent days.
The Reds are said to have initiated contact with Inter, as they look to get a deal done for the energetic midfielder.
Barella is currently at Euro 2020, where he is impressing with Italy, so any transfer would surely have to wait until the end of the tournament.
But he could be a highly appealing signing for Liverpool, if they can pull off a swoop.
Barella won Serie A’s official midfielder of the year title after his last campaign, where he delivered 13 assists as Inter won the title.
His arrival at Liverpool would inject added creativity into Klopp’s side, and would surely make them even more of an attacking threat.
Barella has actually been hailed as the ‘best midfielder in the world’ right now by Italian agent Furio Valcareggi (TMW), such is the standard of his displays over the past campaign.
And with Inter having to raise funds due to their financial issues, there may be belief that a deal could be possible, if the Reds do push on and make an offer.
