According to a report from Spanish outlet AS, Liverpool have considered making a move for Real Madrid defender, Nacho Fernandez.
Nacho, 31, has been a mainstay of the impressive Real Madrid team of the last few years which has won four European cups. The Spaniard, without ever always being a first-team starter, has still amassed over 200 appearances for the club.
And AS claim that Nacho was one of the defenders Liverpool have considered signing as they look to ease their defensive worries.

The report claims Liverpool may well use their Champions League tie with Madrid to get a closer look at the Spanish defender. Nacho has come back into the team of late in Madrid, helping Zidane’s men to six wins from their last eight.
Indeed, Nacho has only actually tasted defeat twice in La Liga this season, per Transfermarkt.
The Reds madde moves for both Ben Davies and Ozan Kabak in January to ease their defensive crisis. However, it is expected the club will still make a new centre-back a priority this summer. Nacho, then, could very much fit the bill.
TBR View: Nacho a class act but age is against him really
31 isn’t exactly old but in terms of someone who might give you value for money, it might be a stretch for the Reds to justify.
Madrid, for a start, won’t want to lose him for cheap. Nacho is a reliable defender for them, often putting in fine performances when called upon by the management.
He’d definitely bring stability and a winning mentality to Liverpool. However, it’s unlikely the Reds will move for someone in their 30s when there are younger options out there for the club to develop.
