Report: Liverpool extensively scouting Brazilian midfielder who Barcelona also want
Liverpool have joined the race to sign Fluminense’s Andre Trindade, according to Netflu.
The Brazilian outlet – via Sport Witness – claims the Reds are now in pursuit of the 20-year-old midfielder.
As well as Liverpool, the likes of Barcelona, Ajax and Udinese are also eyeing Andre.
7 Transfers That DESTROYED Football Clubs
Jurgen Klopp’s charges have been linked with several central midfielders in recent months.
Although the Reds are strong in that area – as they are all across the pitch – there’s certainly scope to strengthen.
Jordan Henderson is 31 and James Milner is 36, so Klopp may well be looking for potential successors.
Liverpool have also struck gold with young talents in recent years, such as Harvey Elliott.
Andre is one of Brazil’s best young midfielders, having already clocked up 70 appearances for Fluminense.
According to Netflu, Liverpool scouts have been watching him live and relaying information back to Anfield.
They claim the Reds have been ‘watching from close’ the youngster’s performances for his team.
However, the outlet also made clear that’s how things stand for now, with no offer or further talks reported.
Netflu also points out that Liverpool and Fluminense have a ‘good relationship’.
The clubs recently negotiated the transfer of young goalkeeper Marcelo Pitaluga to Anfield.
Meanwhile, Sport Witness notes how the two clubs also worked on the move of midfielder Allan.
He was on the books at Liverpool and had a loan spell at Fluminense.
