Report: Liverpool, Everton and Wolves once again linked with Philippe Coutinho

Liverpool are once again being linked with a move for Philippe Coutinho, with Wolves and Everton also mentioned as being keen.

The Brazilian being linked with Liverpool is nothing new. He seems to be constantly credited with a return to Anfield, however unlikely it seems.

And once again this weekend, Spanish publication Sport has claimed that the Reds, Everton, and Wolves are best placed to land the Brazilian.

But any move for Coutinho would need a big outlay from whoever looks to bring him back to English shores. He’s on big money in Barcelona, while the Catalan club will want some money back for a player they paid over £100m for.

Further, the report seems to stem from a post online which saw Coutinho pictured back in Merseyside. Naturally, that has triggered the latest reports and links with a switch back to the Premier League.

Never going to happen

Every summer this seems to come back around, and every summer it seems less and less likely.

Liverpool do need players but Coutinho just hasn’t been the same since he left and there’s nothing to suggest he’d be the same again.

In fairness, you could see him turning up at Wolves. They’re the sort of club who’d take a punt on someone like Coutinho and hope he delivers. With Everton, it’s hard to see them going for him. The James Rodriguez experiment has yielded inconsistent results.

Once again, then, we’re likely to see a summer of Coutinho being linked with England, but ultimately ending up nowhere.
