The Press & Journal claim a whole host of Premier League clubs including Liverpool, Everton and Newcastle are keen on signing Aberdeen talent Calvin Ramsay. It is believed he will cost more than £3million.

Ramsay, 18, has been in sensational form for Aberdeen this season – having broken into the senior side last term and played six times. This time around, he has played 19 times in all competitions – laying on an impressive eight assists.

It would have been more for Ramsay, had he not suffered a hamstring injury in October – which saw him miss a run of eight Scottish Premiership matches. That has not swayed the likes of Liverpool, Everton and Newcastle.

Leicester, Watford, Southampton, Norwich, Manchester United, Liverpool, Everton and Newcastle have all shown interest. Watford have opened talks, while United and Everton have scouted and compiled dossiers on Ramsay.

The report states that Aberdeen would only consider selling the Scotland Under-21 star for a club-record fee. That figure currently stands at Scott McKenna’s £3million move from Pittodrie to Nottingham Forest.

Liverpool, Everton, Newcastle: Which club is best for Ramsay?

Having tasted first-team football, Ramsay needs to join a side where there is a clear path into the senior set-up. Even joining a side that are willing to let Ramsay return to Aberdeen on loan for the rest of the campaign.

Liverpool have Trent Alexander-Arnold, Neco Williams and James Milner. But the latter duo could leave in the summer. Everton need a long-term replacement for Seamus Coleman, Newcastle desperately need a right-back.

But they could sign Kieran Trippier. All clubs offer a decent pathway into the senior side. For Ramsay, joining a club where he can instantly return to Aberdeen on loan is best for the talented teenager.
