Liverpool could be tempted to make an offer to Lyon for midfielder Houssem Aouar, ESPN say.
In-demand
Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur had both been linked with Aouar most heavily, but it is now claimed that Liverpool are keen to snap up the Frenchman.
Aouar is said to have been on the Reds’ radar for some time, and his availability is interesting Jurgen Klopp’s side.
The Frenchman is thought to be available at a cut price this summer, due to Lyon’s financial issues.
ESPN claim that it is Arsenal who are currently in pole position to land the 23-year-old, who Rio Ferdinand has described as ‘fabulous’ (BT).
Anfield appeal?
But if Liverpool do make a move for him then a switch to Anfield could appeal.

Liverpool have Champions League football on offer, and they also have a slot in their starting line-up to offer the midfielder.
Georginio Wijnaldum’s departure means that Liverpool have a gap in their midfield which needs filling.
Aouar may be a more creative influence in their midfield than Wijnaldum, although he doesn’t possess the same defensive instincts as the Dutchman.
