According to The Athletic, Liverpool have made an enquiry to West Ham about potentially signing their defender, Issa Diop.
Diop has dipped down the pecking order a bit under David Moyes this term. However, it is through little fault of his own, as Moyes has stuck with a winning formula which has left the Frenchman benched for now.

But with Liverpool in desperate need for a central defender, The Athletic claims Diop is someone the Reds have asked about. Anfield officials have apparently sounded out a loan deal.
However, one sticking point is West Ham’s stance. It is claimed the Hammers would prefer a loan-to-buy option, with a fee of over £20m needing to be paid for the 24-year-old.

Diop is certainly a talented individual. He has impressed Jose Mourinho in the past, while in 2018, it was claimed (BR) that PSG were willing to bid around £50m for the defender.
TBR View: Diop is a beast, he’d be ideal for Liverpool right now
Of all the options getting mentioned to go to Liverpool, Diop might be the most suitable yet.
He’s got crucial Premier League experience and up until this season was widely regarded as one of the better defenders outside of the top four in the league.
At 24, he’s well into the prime of his career now and he’d surely relish a move to Anfield to prove himself on the biggest of stages. Liverpool simply have to do something in the coming days and in Diop, they could have the perfect solution.
