Liverpool are reported one of two clubs who have an offer on the table to bring Luis Suarez in this summer, according to reports in Spain.

Suarez, 34, is already something of an Anfield legend from his previous spell. The Uruguayan is widely regarded as one of the best strikers to grace the Premier League in recent times. He scored 82 times for Liverpool in just over 130 games, narrowly missing out on the title under Brendan Rodgers.

Currently flying with Atletico Madrid, Suarez is actually contracted with Los Rojos Blancos until 2022. But Deportes Cuatro claim that Suarez has a clause in his contract which will allow him to leave this summer.

And it is also claimed that Liverpool, as well as Inter Miami, hold a firm interest in signing Suarez. Further, it is also claimed Suarez would prefer a move back to Anfield if he does leave Spain.

Liverpool fans, then, will be slightly excited by the prospect of seeing the former favourite back on Merseyside.

It would probably go against the model of what Liverpool have signed in the past few years, but how do you pass up the chance to sign Suarez?

The forward is simply brilliant and at 34, is still firing the goals in for Atletico. Everyone remembers how good he was in his last spell with the Reds, a spell which Steven Gerrard has raved about on more than one occasion.

Should Liverpool pull this off over the summer, then they might well be able to dream of a second Premier League title.
