Goal have claimed that Liverpool are considering two Premier League left-backs to supply Andy Robertson cover and potential competition – in the form of Norwich City’s Jamal Lewis and Bournemouth’s Lloyd Kelly.
Liverpool have little competition for Robertson on the left side of the defence. Neco Williams played at left-back recently, while James Milner can also do a job there. But neither are left-backs by trade.
The report claims 22-year-old Lewis is a target, after impressing for Norwich in the Premier League. He has 98 senior outings for the Canaries and is already a six-time Northern Ireland international.
The Belfast Telegraph claim he is worth £20million. Meanwhile, 21-year-old Kelly has finally overcome a long-term hamstring problem to play for Bournemouth – after joining from Bristol City last summer.
He can play either on the left side of the defence or at centre-back. He has managed just eight appearances for Bournemouth, but Liverpool have kept tabs on Kelly after becoming interested before his Bournemouth move.

TBR’s view – Which club would be the better option?
Lewis is more proven in the Premier League and his style of football suits Liverpool down to a tee – as Norwich remain renowned for their ball-playing way. Relegated, Lewis could be sold to raise funds for Norwich.
At £20million, he is somewhat cheap given his number of appearances and his age. Under Robertson, he would be a great signing but Kelly could be even better and that is because of his versatility.
With Dejan Lovren likely to leave, bringing in a player that can offer cover at centre-back or left-back is ideal. Kelly can be that man.
