Liverpool starlet Curtis Jones could leave the club on loan in January.

According to The Times, Liverpool will make decisions on whether to loan out Rhian Brewster and Curtis Jones. Brewster and Jones are two of Liverpool’s most highly-rated young players but both might be given loan spells to aid their development.

Jones has enjoyed an impressive season, captaining the U23s and making his first-team debut. The local lad – who supported Liverpool as a boy – made his senior bow in the EFL Cup against Milton Keynes Dons. He won the man of the match award that evening.

He also starred in a game against Arsenal in the EFL Cup, holding his nerve to score the winning penalty. Jones is set to travel with the senior side for the FIFA Club World Cup later this month.

But Jones might be loaned out in January. The England youth midfielder is likely to attract attention from a number of clubs in the Championship after showing his talent.

TBR’s view

Liverpool need to tread carefully with this Jones move – he is only one or two injuries away from a call-up. Liverpool need to weigh up whether he will be better off on loan or at Anfield.

Jones is excelling at youth level and more senior minutes could make him a better player. Liverpool should gauge his form over the next month before making a decision.
