Report: Liverpool close to signing Kacper Kozlowski
Liverpool are close to a deal to bring in young Polish midfielder Kacper Kozlowski, according to a report from The Mirror this weekend.
The teenager already has five caps for his country and is seen as one of the top emerging young stars in European football at the moment. Indeed, he played in Euro 2020, breaking Jude Bellingham’s record for youngest player to appear in the tournament.
Liverpool face competition for the signing of Kozlowski from the likes of AC Milan and RB Leipzig, per The Mirror. However, the report also states the Reds are right in the mix when it comes to landing the youngster.
The Mirror’s report also states how Kozlowski has been compared to Belgian midfielder Kevin De Bruyne. Quite the comparison, of course.
The Reds have been quiet in the market in recent times and only managed to land Ibrahima Konate over the summer. It’s claimed his current club Pogon will only sell Kozlowski in the summer, with a January deal unlikely.
TBR’s View: Smart move from Liverpool to land top talent
If the Reds aren’t going to be splashing out on big names in the transfer windows, then they might as well get some of the best youngsters if they can.
Kozlowski certainly seems to be in that bracket. Given the company challenging Liverpool for him, it would suggest he is quite the player.
Further, anyone coming on in the Euros at just 17 has to have plenty about him. The Reds already have top youngsters like Harvey Elliott on the books, so adding Kozlowski would be another smart move.
