The Daily Record has claimed that Liverpool are to make Rangers wait over the potential re-signing of winger Ryan Kent this summer, as Jurgen Klopp has made a decision for the time being.
The 22-year-old has been excellent while on loan at Rangers, having a hand in 15 goals for the Light Blues during the 2018-19 campaign. He scored six goals, and created nine more – winning the Young Player of the Season.
But those rave reviews have caught the attention of Klopp, and the former Borussia Dortmund boss is now keen to take a look at the former Bristol City, Barnsley and Freiburg loanee during pre-season.
The report states that Rangers are desperate to retain Kent, whether that be on loan for another season or on a permanent basis. It is believed Kent is valued at around £7million.
Rangers have made three signings this summer, bringing in Steven Davis on a permanent deal while Jake Hastie and Jordan Jones have also joined the club on free transfers from Motherwell and Kilmarnock.
At £7million, Kent is a bargain and although it would be a big statement to land the winger, it would certainly be money well spent.
His stats are not mind blowing, but his performances in the Old Firm matches shows that Kent is well worth the money because he provides the difference against Celtic.
Adding a player of his quality would be an enormous coup for Rangers. The Gers must do all they can.
