Report: Liverpool want World Cup star and Jurgen Klopp has opened talks already
Jurgen Klopp has already met with the representative of World Cup star Sofyan Amrabat, according to Foot Mercato. The Morocco midfielder helped his country reach the quarter-final for the first time by beating Spain yesterday.
Now, he’s wanted man following his tournament exploits. Tottenham are also keen on securing his services and the player appears desperately keen to sample the Premier League.
Furthermore, more talks are planned between Liverpool and Amrabat’s representatives. The Reds are in desperate need of their midfield freshening up and the 26-year-old is now firmly on the radar.
At the World Cup break, Liverpool were toiling in the Premier League. They lost to Nottingham Forest and Leeds in the space of a week and right now sit sixth in the Premier League.
Amrabat is currently on the books at Fiorentina. He’s been with the club since 2020 and has made 78 appearances for the Serie A outfit. The midfielder has also collected 43 caps for Morocco during his career.
Liverpool look to hold the aces to sign Amrabat. He’s enjoyed a brilliant World Cup and has played in all four of Morocco’s games so far at the tournament.
Now, he will hope to help his country progress even further. The midfielder will then turn his attention towards his future and the Premier League could beckon.
Klopp has met with representative of Amrabat
Although this might be a useful signing, it shouldn’t be the only one that Liverpool make. They desperately need to spend some money on their midfield and a stellar recruit should also be on the horizon.
Amrabat is a safe pair of hands. He’s a defence-minded midfielder and he would definitely add something to the Anfield ranks should Klopp manage to get a deal for him over the line.
His stock has definitely risen during this World Cup. Morocco have been the surprise package and if they beat Portugal then they will stand just a single game away from their first-ever World Cup Final.
The fact that Klopp has already spoke with Amrabat’s representatives is perhaps telling. He will surely jump at the chance to sign for the Anfield giants and this could be a deal that gets done pretty quickly.
