Report: Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Barcelona interested in Adeyemi
Liverpool, Barcelona and Bayern Munich are interested in Red Bull Salzburg striker Karim Adeyemi, according to Bild.
The young ace made his debut for the German national team on Sunday, scoring in the 6-0 win over Armenia.
Adeyemi is the next centre-forward off the Austrian side’s production line. Erling Haaland, Sadio Mane and Takumi Minamino have all earned moves to big European clubs after stints with the outfit.
The 19-year-old has been in sensational form for the team this season, scoring seven times in just nine games across all competitions.
Liverpool made no additions to their forward line this summer despite the departure of Xherdan Shaqiri.
Meanwhile, Barcelona saw Lionel Messi depart for Paris Saint Germain on a free transfer, while Bayern focused more on defence and midfield.
Liverpool face heavy competition
Signing a forward will be of the highest importance going into the 2022/23 season.
Liverpool are already looking to shift Divock Origi, who has become surplus to requirements. Meanwhile, Roberto Firmino is far from the most potent of players in front of goal.
After Shaqiri departed for Lyon without a replacement, Jurgen Klopp is light in the final third.
January business has always been hard to do and, with the Africa Cup of Nations taking place, it may well be impossible.
Therefore, next summer will be the earliest time you feel Klopp will sign an attacker.
Liverpool face some heavy competition for Adeyemi, if they intend on making a move next summer.
Barcelona will be looking to add to their attack after the departure of Messi. Meanwhile, Bayern did not improve in the final third this summer and are surely going to do so next year.
With Adeyemi setting the Austrian top flight on fire, he will no doubt be a man in demand next year.
