TeamTalk have claimed that numerous Premier League clubs including Liverpool, Arsenal and West Ham United all want to sign Young Boys defender Ali Camara – a teammate of Naby Keita’s at international level with Guinea.

Camara, 23, has been crucial as Young Boys have already confirmed themselves as Swiss Super League champions, sitting a whopping 28 points clear of Basel – with five games still to play. They have lost just won of their 31 games.

Guinea international Camara has clocked up 34 appearances in all competitions – but is set to enter the last 12 months of his contract this summer. Premier League clubs have caught wind, according to a report from TeamTalk.

Indeed, Arsenal, Liverpool, West Ham, Crystal Palace and newly-promoted Norwich City are said to be keen on the African powerhouse. It remains to be seen how much the Swiss outfit will want for the heart of their defence.

TBR’s view – Who needs a Camara most?

Camara’s physicality and speed has been backed up by his footballing intelligence and composure on the ball. He has a bit of everything, as well as offering leadership despite his young age – marshalling a defence that has won the title.

Indeed, Young Boys have conceded just 15 goals in the 24 games he has played – and winning 12 clean sheets in those matches. Those stats are not ignored. Liverpool need a centre-back, one that is happy to provide cover.

West Ham are well-stocked but if Fabian Balbuena goes, a replacement is needed. Arsenal could do with cover with David Luiz looking more and more likely to go. So, all need him, but probably Liverpool more than most.
