Premier League clubs Liverpool, Arsenal, and Everton are all keen on signing Olympiakos defender, Pape Abou Cisse, according to reports.

The Daily Mail has claimed that the trio of Premier League sides are all taking a keen interest in Cisse. The Mail suggest it is Liverpool who hold the upper-hand, but both Everton and Arsenal have sent scouts to watch Cisse as well.

The giant defender is well known to some in England. Well, to Arsenal fans at least. Cisse scored for Olympiakos during the 19/20 season’s Europa League tie, sending the Gunners crashing out.

It is Liverpool, though, who the Mail claim might have an advantage. They suggest that Sadio Mane’s relationship with the defender could swing things in their favour. The pair play together for Senegal.

Cisse has won the league and cup in Greece with Olympiakos. So far, he remains unbeaten in the league this season, with three clean-sheets from five games kept.

The Reds have a wealth of defensive options now. The signing of Konate in the summer ensured they are well stocked. So while the report claims they still want more in that position, it’s not a priority by any means.

For Arsenal, though, a new defender could help. Gabriel and Ben White have cemented themselves well this season. But Cisse is a different type of player, and could prove useful for the Gunners.

Certainly, he might well be an upgrade on a Rob Holding. Cisse, then, is bound to be in-demand when the window does open.
