Liverpool are the most likely club to sign Houssem Aouar this summer despite his price-tag rising, Le 10 Sport suggest.
Beating the competition
Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are all being linked with the French midfielder, who looked to be available on a cut price move.
However, new Lyon boss Peter Bosz has apparently said that he would like to keep Aouar, which has led to his price tag rising to around £30 million, in the latest development.
That valuation may take him out of Tottenham’s price range, unless they sell Harry Kane, and it also could see Arsenal back away.
But Le 10 speculates that Liverpool are the club who are most likely to put forward a bid.
Midfielder needed
Jurgen Klopp’s side do need a central midfielder, with Georginio Wijnaldum and Marko Grujic both departing recently.
Even at £30 million, Aouar could present himself as an appealing option.

Aouar was once regarded as one of the top players in France, although his form dipped slightly over the past campaign, with Pep Guardiola labelling him as ‘incredible’ (Sky).
Aouar still contributed with seven goals though, and that sort of form would go down well at Anfield.
There is a feeling that Liverpool could do with a creative spark and some more dynamism in midfield, and if Klopp could get Aouar back to his best then he could certainly provide that.
