Report: Liverpool are now frontrunners to sign 'incredible' talent who wants to be just like Pogba
Liverpool are pushing on with their efforts to try and sign Denis Zakaria this month, and ESPN have now claimed the Reds are one of the frontrunners to land the Swiss star.
Zakaria, 25, is available on a free transfer in the summer if Liverpool bide their time. However, ESPN report how Liverpool, Dortmund, and Bayern are now all looking to see if they can do a deal for Zakaria this month. The impressive midfielder has been in fine form once more, but his refusal to sign fresh terms has alerted the best in Europe.
The Gladbach star has been a shining light in the Bundesliga for some time now. Indeed, Dortmund boss Marco Rose even labelled Zakaria as ‘incredible’ thanks to his fine performances in Germany. Reports have claimed that Gladbach could even sell for as little as £6m this month if someone comes knocking.
What On Earth Is Going On At Legia Warsaw?
Zakaria certainly has high aspirations for himself. In a previous interview, the Swiss star claimed he wanted to be just like Paul Pogba or Patrick Vieira if he could. Certainly, he won’t go far wrong emulating those two!
Liverpool have been looking for a new midfielder ever since Gini Wijnaldum left in the summer.
TBR’s View: Liverpool Should Push For Zakaria, He’s A Bargain
Sometimes you feel like a player will suit Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp and Denis Zakaria is one of those.
He has bundles of energy, loves a tackle, and in Klopp’s pressing system, you can imagine he’d succeed. The Reds are crying out for a new midfield player and long-term, Klopp needs to address the position.
For Zakaria, he clearly has the pick of some of Europe’s best. Liverpool are a club he might not be able to say no to, and that is something the Reds board should be jumping.
