Liverpool, Spurs and Manchester City are amongst the Premier League clubs who are keeping an eye on Matthew Hoppe as the 19-year-old proves to be a shining light for Bundesliga strugglers Schalke, according to a report from 90min.

Schalke look to be on their way out of the top flight this term. They sit nine points adrift of safety with 13 games remaining.

They have just one win this season. And the player largely responsible for that victory is now attracting a lot of attention.

Hoppe scored a hat-trick in January as they beat Hoffenheim 4-0. The teenager only made his senior debut earlier this season. And he has scored five times since the turn of the year.

90min reports that a host of English sides are now monitoring Hoppe, who signed a new contract earlier this month.

Along with Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool, both Manchester clubs are said to be keen.

It is not suggested how much Hoppe may cost any admirer. But it is noted that Schalke have loaned out key men in recent times in the hope of finding a permanent buyer in a bid to ease their financial issues.

Of course, one of those players who has been loaned out is Ozan Kabak, who moved to Anfield at the end of the January transfer window. So the Reds may be hoping that they can repeat the trick in a future window with Hoppe.

You only need to look at Hoppe’s hat-trick to see why he has so many admirers. Two of his goals saw the youngster dink the ball over the goalkeeper, while the other came when he danced around Oliver Baumann.

Along with that composure in front of goal, Hoppe showed how clever he is already. He made a number of smart runs off the last defender.

The early signs suggest that he has a very bright future ahead. And the likes of Spurs and Liverpool are hoping that that potential could be realised in the Premier League.
