The Daily Mail have claimed that Liverpool and Manchester United are both monitoring Peterborough United attacker Ricky Jade-Jones ahead of a potential summer switch – with Leeds United and Arsenal previously making offers.
Jade-Jones, 17, has burst onto the scene after netting four goals in 16 league and cup appearances for the Posh. Director of football Barry Fry recently confirmed that Leeds and Arsenal had tabled bids to sign their academy product.
However, Jade-Jones has remained at Peterborough though this summer is likely to prove decisive – especially with Peterborough potentially being a club that need to sell in order to ease the financial restraints of the health crisis.
Liverpool and Manchester United are keen, though the latter may boast an advantage – with Jade-Jones telling Sky Sports he mirrors himself on: “Rashford, because the way he broke into the team was similar to me and my upbringing. I watch Rashford a lot and learn from him.”
TBR’s view – Which club is best to join?
Manchester United and Liverpool have both handed debuts to a number of players this season with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Jurgen Klopp placing plenty of faith in youth – so which is best?
It could be argued that Klopp only played the youngsters in the FA Cup and Carabao Cup due to the club’s mass participation in numerous competitions – including the Club World Cup. Though the likes of Harvey Elliott, Neco Williams and Curtis Jones have broken into the senior side.
Meanwhile, Mason Greenwood, Tahith Chong, Brandon Williams and plenty more at United have been used regularly – and not because United have been playing in the Club World Cup. A move to Old Trafford, with Rashford, is his best option.
