Report: Liverpool and Manchester United among clubs to ask about Eduardo Camavinga
Liverpool are among the clubs keen on landing Rennes midfielder, Eduardo Camavinga, after it emerged that Rennes could be willing to sell him this summer.
Camavinga is seen as one of the brightest young talents in Europe. Already a full French international, he is thought to be valued at around the £80m mark.
Now, 90Min have claimed that Liverpool and Manchester United are among the clubs to have asked about Camavinga. They join the likes of PSG, Chelsea, and Real Madrid in holding an interest in the midfielder.
Fabrizio Romano has claimed today that Rennes could actually accept as little as £30m for Camavinga.
Liverpool are still to replace Gini Wijnaldum this summer. The Dutchman left for PSG for nothing, but Jurgen Klopp has so far resisted the temptation to enter the market. However, with Camavinga now available, the German coach could change his tune.
Camavinga has already been labelled as a ‘generational talent’. Liverpool, then, could decide this is too good an opportunity to pass up.
TBR’s View: Liverpool have to at least try for Camavinga
The Reds would be foolish not to get their name in the mix here. We’re talking about one of Europe’s premier talents, not just a run of the mill midfielder.
At £30m, it really is the ultimate bargain price. Camavinga is already operating a level where he’s good enough for France, so playing for Liverpool should be no issue.
Klopp simply has to get FSG to move here. And even if they miss out, they can at least move forward knowing they tried.
