Football site 90Min have claimed that Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea all expressed interest in Reading star Michael Olise. However, the trio of Premier League heavyweights are set to lose out to Patrick Vieira’s Crystal Palace. The Eagles have activated the player’s £8million clause.
Olise, 19, has been in sensational form for Reading of late. Clocking up 46 games for the Championship side in 2020-21, the Frenchman scored seven goals and created an impressive 12 more. Unsurprisingly, it has attracted interest from Premier League clubs. Palace are set to win the race.
The report from 90Min says that the clause has been activated and that personal terms have been agreed with Olise. But it only comes after Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea had all expressed their interest in Olise. Patrick Vieira is set to win the race and make Olise his first signing.

Have Liverpool and Manchester City missed a trick in not signing Olise?
Olise is a real, real talent. At just 19, he has had a hand in 19 goals during one Championship season. While it is not the Premier League, the Championship is tough and difficult to get out of. His form comes in a side that narrowly missed out on the play-offs, but were far from the best.
His stats were excellent. But would a move to one of England’s biggest clubs benefit him? Probably not. In fact, it is a better move to join a club like Palace – who are mid table. It will allow him to get game time and then potentially, in the future, earn a bigger move to the likes of Liverpool.
