Liverpool and Chelsea have joined the race to sign Carlisle United defender Jarrad Branthwaite in January, according to a report from the Daily Mail.
Branthwaite is one of the most exciting talents in the Football League. The 17-year-old has made nine League Two appearances, while he has started 15 games in all competitions.

The Daily Mail reports that Carlisle expect to sell Branthwaite when the window opens next month. It is suggested that a number of Premier League sides want the teenager.
And the Mail reports that Liverpool and Chelsea are in the running to land the centre-back.

He looks comfortable driving out of the defence with the ball at his feet. And he already stands at over 6 foot 4 inches so he certainly boasts a presence.
Branthwaite looks set to have an exciting choice to make next month. And you could certainly understand if he felt that a move to Anfield was the right one for his career.
