Football website 90Min have claimed that Liverpool and Celtic are just two teams currently in the race to sign FC Copenhagen 17-year-old Mohammed Daramy, after the attacker broke in the Danish side’s matchday squad

Daramy has already scored five goals for Copenhagen in 27 senior appearances. The youngster made his debut for his boyhood club in December 2018 and has since been a part of the Danish giants’ team under former Wolves boss Stale Solbakken.

This season, Daramy has got three goals in 15 games – starting four of those outings. His meteoric rise into one of Europe’s most-respected clubs has been noticed by some of Europe’s big guns, including Liverpool who have scouted the teen.

But The Reds are not alone in their pursuit of the forward – who turns 18 in January. Indeed, Celtic are also keen, while the report claims half of the Premier League’s sides are joined by RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund in tracking Daramy.

However, the report does state that Liverpool are leading the way for Daramy, and are already considering an offer. He has a contract at Copenhagen until December 2021.

TBR’s view – Daramy looks an exciting talent, Liverpool must sign

To have made so many first-team appearances for a club as big as Copenhagen already in his short career is testament to Daramy, and the player’s work ethic and quality. The versatile attacker has an enormous future ahead of him.

Copenhagen are using him wisely, not piling the pressure on him by starting him – but also giving him plenty of game time when possible. Liverpool must look to sign Daramy, but perhaps loaning him back for a season would be ideal.
