Scouts from several Premier League sides including Newcastle United and Arsenal watched highly rated defender Aaron Hickey this weekend, as reported by The Scottish Sun.
The 17-year-old turned out for Hearts against Rangers and played a full 90 minutes at Tynecastle for his 12th appearance of the season.
Hickey has been making waves over in Scotland after making his debut in May earlier this year.
The starlet’s stock is sky high and a host of teams are said to be monitoring his progress.
As well as Arsenal and Newcastle, representatives of Liverpool, Aston Villa, Southampton, Norwich City and Crystal Palace were also in attendance at the weekend.
Hickey has already been linked with a move to Manchester City.
TBR’s view – Hickey a top prospect
Whoever lands Hickey will have a fantastic young full-back on their hands.
Newcastle United currently have two decent left-back options at the moment in Matt Ritchie and Jetro Willems, but the former is now 30 and a long-term replacement could soon be required.
Arsenal are no strangers to picking up talent from Scotland, having signed Kieran Tierney from Celtic in the summer – something that might appeal to fellow left-back Hickey in the future.
