The Athletic has claimed that both Liverpool and Arsenal are in a six-way chase to sign Brighton star Yves Bissouma, and that interested parties will have to splash out a whopping £40million to get the African ace this summer.
Bissouma, 24, has caught the eye with his performances for Brighton this season – establishing himself as one of the best holding midfielders outside the top six in the Premier League during his three years with the Seagulls.
The Mali international is expected to be a target for numerous clubs this summer and The Athletic reckon Liverpool and Arsenal have been joined by Manchester United, Leicester City, Real Madrid and AS Monaco in pursuit.
It is claimed that the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and the remaining interested parties will have to spend £40million to get a player that. Champions League football next season might be crucial when Bissouma chooses his new side.

TBR’s view – Bissouma a top player, but is he CL standard?
He has been excellent for Brighton, and he is probably worth the best part of £40million given he is still very young. But is he Champions League quality? Is he at the top of the class? Or just in the top half?
Look at Arsenal and Liverpool. With the Reds, he won’t start. Fabinho and Jordan Henderson are better players, while Thiago probably does a better role than Bissouma in between the defence and the midfield.
At Arsenal, he would certainly have a better chance of game time and probably starts alongside Thomas Partey – but he is some way off the Ghanaian. Liverpool and Arsenal need to scour the market first, before going in for Bissouma.
