Liverpool have been alerted to the availablity of Real Madrid defender, Eder Militao, and could make a move in the January window, according to Sport World.
Manager Jurgen Klopp has not given anything away when it comes to the Reds potentially signing a new defender in this window, although he has admitted it was unlikely.

However, Militao is expected to be able to leave Real Madrid on a loan deal initially, with the Brazilian out of the plans for Zinedine Zidane for the time being.
Reports have suggested Jose Mourinho is pushing his Spurs board to sign Militao. But Jurgen Klopp could look to get one over his rival by landing the Madrid man.

Despite not featuring much this season, Militao is highly-rated. Indeed, his teammate Casemeiro declared his delight when Madrid did land him, after claiming ‘half of Europe wanted him’ initially.

Liverpool aren’t likely to spend big money on a new defender so any move would likely be a loan deal.
If they could somehow wrap up a deal for Militao, it would offer them an insurance policy and give them a defender who is more than capable and experienced at the highest level.
Add to that the fact they’d be beating Mourinho to a signing, and it would probably sit pretty nicely with Reds fans around the country.
