According to a report from The Times, Liverpool have agreed a deal to sign Birmingham City youngster, Calum Scanlon.
The report claims the Reds have agreed to pay a six-figure sum to sign Scanlon, who is still only 15 and yet to even come remotely close to making a first-team impression at St. Andrews.

However, the youngster is already on the watchlist of those at England and he received his first call-up to the under-15s in 2020.
Scanlon, who can play at both left-back and midfield, per The Times, is said to be mulling the offer over with his family before deciding on making the switch to Anfield.
It is claimed the Reds will pay less than £500k to bring Scanlon to the club. Liverpool are said to have watched the teenager for a while now and have decided to act now as they look to secure the country’s top talent for the future.

Long-term planning is just as important for the big clubs as short-termism and adding players like Scanlon only strengthens Liverpools prospects heading into the future.
Clearly a player of talent, Liverpool wouldn’t be paying a decent sum of money if they didn’t think the had potential.
Their record in developing or selling young players is a good one in recent years, too, so the Reds will see this as a win-win situation really.
