Tottenham Hotspur are currently on the lookout for a new permanent manager following the sacking of Jose Mourinho.

As is the case when a big Premier League club finds itself with a managerial vacancy, the rumour mill goes into overdrive.

According to football.london, Spurs are hoping to have their next manager signed, sealed and announced by the end of this season.

The hope is that Mourinho’s permanent successor will have been announced by full time against Leicester on May 23, added the report.

One candidate who reportedly had plenty of admirers at Tottenham, Julian Nagelsmann, will take the reins at Bayern Munich.

Brendan Rodgers, meanwhile, has rejected the opportunity to swap Leicester for Spurs, according to Sky Sports.

Candidates who are reportedly still in the frame include Ajax’s Erik ten Hag, Roberto Martinez, Massimiliano Allegri, Ralf Rangnick, Hansi Flick and Scott Parker.

However, football.london has claimed that links with former Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri, Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo and Atletico Bilbao’s Marcelino are believed to be wide of the mark at this point.

Likewise, England boss Gareth Southgate, Lille’s Christophe Galtier, Wolfsburg’s Oliver Glasner and ex-Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe are not believed to be in the frame at this current time, added the outlet.

No doubt one of two of the names who Spurs are apparently not looking at will make some fans breathe a sigh of relief, while others who are reportedly still in the frame will still split opinion.

However, if Levy does indeed want a manager installed by the end of May, then fans won’t have to wait too long before finding out who does take the reins – hopefully it’ll be one that gets supporters excited.
