It appears that Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur could be set to miss out on the talented French youngster Isaac Lihadji, according to reports in France. Foot Mercato is reporting that Lille have won the race to sign the exciting winger, whose contract with Marseille expires in the summer.
The report claims he will cost a’ few thousand euros’ in training fees, so a small six-figure sum and that Lille beat competition from Borussia Dortmund and ‘other large European teams’ to sign the 18-year-old talent.
Two of those clubs are believed to be the North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham.
According to a report from Foot Mercato in December, both Arsenal and Spurs had contacted the player’s representatives regarding a potential transfer to England when his contract expired.
The electric wideman has impressed for the French under-18s and it appeared both Arsenal and Spurs felt he had the talent to one day become a top star in the Premier League.
However, it appears that Lihadji has decided remaining in France is the best option for his career and he will be looking to secure himself a first-team place at the Stade Pierre Mauroy next season.
