Report: Lille want Michael Olise, amid links to Spurs, Leeds and Arsenal
French champions Lille have joined the likes of Leeds, Arsenal, and Spurs in the race to sign Reading star, Michael Olise, this summer.
An exclusive report from TeamTalk has suggested that Lille are now firmly in the mix to land the Reading ace. Olise, 19, is said to be valued highly by the Royals, with some reports suggesting £30m is their asking price.
The Sun claimed in January that Leeds have been tracking Olise for some time now. While this latest report from TeamTalk suggests that both Arsenal and Chelsea have been linked. Further, Spurs also expressed their interest back in December, as reported by The Athletic.
But it now appears Lille could be the team to beat in the race for Olise. The French side are also eyeing Arnaut Danjuma from Bournemouth.
Olise’s stunning form for Reading has caught the eye this term. As well as scoring seven goals, the teenager also hit double figures in terms of assists.
With the Royals missing out on promotion to the Premier League, the Berkshire outfit know they could be powerless to resist big offers.
Lille want Michael Olise from Reading – Big money needed so surely Leeds and others not ruled out just yet
There is no way this is going to be straightforward for Lille. If a bid comes in, then surely the Premier League clubs will also be on their toes.
And rightly so, too. Olise is one of the finest young talents in England at the moment. Yes, he has lots of learning to do but at 19, that will come with time and experience.
For us here in England, it would be great to see him grace the Premier League. £30m is a big ask for someone like Lille to pay, even though they have got Champions League football and have a knack of selling players for big money.
