Report: Levy offered 54-year-old his highest-ever salary to take over as Tottenham manager
Tottenham director Daniel Levy offered Julen Lopetegui the best salary of his career to take over as the club’s new manager.
According to El Confidencial, the Spaniard rejected the offer from the figure which surpassed his earnings with Real Madrid. The Sevilla manager earned €6m (£5.1m) during his time with Los Blancos and €3m (£2.6m) when he was in charge of Spain.
Lopetegui was said to have rejected the ‘dizzying‘ offer for a chance to remain in Seville. He’s enjoyed mass success at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium, winning the Europa League. The 54-year-old has also finished in the top four for the last two seasons in La Liga.
