Report: Levy changes mind on Tottenham future of Dele Alli

Daniel Levy has changed his stance on Dele Alli and is willing to let the 25-year-old leave Tottenham Hotspur during the January transfer window, according to a report from The Athletic.

Dele is one of several players who may not have been against the club’s decision to part company with Nuno Espírito Santo. That is despite the midfielder beginning the campaign in the then Spurs boss’ plans.

However, the arrival of Antonio Conte appears to have changed little for the England international. Dele can count the number of minutes he has had in the Premier League on one hand since the Italian’s appointment.

And it appears that that lack of game-time has set the stage for a January move for Dele.

The Athletic reports that Dele is available next month. It is noted that a loan move looks the more likely with Tottenham likely to demand a significant sum for a permanent deal.

Interestingly, it is suggested that Levy has changed his stance on Dele’s future. He reportedly wanted him to stay when Paris Saint-Germain previously came calling. But he is now seemingly open to him leaving.

Tottenham loaning Dele Alli out may provide his final chance to save Spurs career

As things stand, it is hard to see Dele becoming a regular at Tottenham again. Unfortunately, he seems to have been out of favour for too long. His development has stagnated. And it is hard to know where his career will go from here.

Tottenham loaning him out may turn out to be an inspired decision. Should he emulate Jesse Lingard and proved to be an amazing signing for another club, Spurs find themselves in a much better position.

From there, they could potentially cash in for a much larger sum.

Or Dele can be considered for one final opportunity to save his Tottenham career.
