Leicester City are reportedly willing to listen to offers for winger Demarai Gray, as Jose Mourinho and Tottenham continue to circle around the 24-year-old.
Reports late last month suggested Gray was a target for Mourinho, who is keen to bolster his attacking options ahead of the new season beginning this weekend. However, it was believed that Leicester we unwilling to sell the winger, despite Gray entering the final year of his contract with the Foxes.
But according to the Telegraph, Brendan Rodgers is now willing to sell, with little sign of a new deal being agreed between the club and player.
Gray has made over 100 appearances in the Premier League for the Foxes, scoring ten times and assisting another eleven during that period.
However, he is not a regular under Rodgers, with the Leicester boss often preferring to play the likes of Ayoze Perez and James Maddison ahead of him, while Harvey Barnes has also burst onto the scene.
Gray is thought to be open to a move to north London and the wheels could very much be in motion now given the change in stance from the Midlands outfit.
Gray has underachieved but Mourinho may get the best from him – TBR View
Given his talent, Gray perhaps should have done a lot more so far in his career. He appears to have stalled a little bit and just ten Premier League goals is hardly something to write home about.
However, a move to Spurs might well given him a boost and the change in manager could also help his performances.
Jose Mourinho remains one of the best in the world and is renowned for getting the best from players he really believes in. Therefore, if he does fancy Gray as a top player, then the 24-year-old may well flourish with Spurs.
