Leicester City have joined the race to sign Josh Doig, with The Sun reporting that the Foxes scouted the Leeds United and Arsenal target on Monday.

Doig has made a big impression having gone into this season awaiting the chance to make his Scottish Premiership debut.

The 18-year-old has contributed four assists in the top flight for Hibernian. Unsurprisingly, those at Easter Road have attempted to ensure that they give themselves the best chance of holding onto the teenager.

The Sun notes that the left-back is under contract until 2025. However, Hibs are aware that Doig is set to attract several bids this summer.

And the report suggests that Leicester have joined the likes of Leeds and Arsenal in the race. Brendan Rodgers’s men scouted the £1.5 million-rated starlet on Monday.

TBR View: Tough choice for Doig may be ahead

It is looks to be a good time for a young left-sided player to join any of Doig’s Premier League admirers.

Leeds certainly need to bolster their left-back options this summer. Arsenal meanwhile, have had a mixed time when Kieran Tierney has been unavailable.

Brendan Rodgers has used a number of options in that role this term. But the likes of James Justin, Timothy Castagne and Ricardo Pereira are all more natural on the right.

Obviously, Doig is unlikely to be playing regularly immediately if he moves to England this summer.

But the club that is able to present the clearest pathway to the first-team will surely boast a big advantage in the race.
