Leicester City are hoping to scupper Arsenal’s hopes of signing Yves Bissouma, with the Daily Mirror reporting that the Foxes have joined the Gunners in the running to sign the Brighton star.

Bissouma has been a revelation for Graham Potter’s side this season. The 24-year-old has been a shining light in a campaign that has seen the Seagulls flirt with the relegation places.

The Daily Mirror claims that he may well be on the move in the summer. It is noted that he will have just two years left on his contract at the end of the campaign.

The Mirror suggests that he is a boyhood Arsenal fan, and Mikel Arteta is keen to bring him to the Emirates.

However, the report also claims that Brendan Rodgers is an admirer. And as things stand, Leicester appear to have a much better chance of offering Champions League football next season.

Just eight players average more tackles per game than the Mali international in the Premier League this season (via Whoscored).

Bissouma – who earns £25,000-a-week, according to Spotrac – reads the game superbly. And he looks to have an exciting amount of potential for the coming years.

So it would be a coup for either Arsenal or Leicester should they manage to get something done. However, it would be no surprise if they were not the only two teams in the running by the time the season has finished.
