Report: Leicester eye Celtic star Callum McGregor along with Edouard

Brendan Rodgers could look to sign two Celtic players this summer, with The Sun reporting that the Leicester City boss wants Callum McGregor as well as Odsonne Edouard.

The Sun reports that the Foxes are planning a £20 million bid for Edouard. And it is suggested that they also have their eye on McGregor.

It is noted that the 27-year-old will not come cheap with plenty of time left to run on his contract.

However, The Sun claims that Rodgers still plans to try and sign the midfielder at the end of the season.

It would be a huge blow for Celtic to lose McGregor, particularly with Scott Brown already on his way.

The pair have been pivotal for the Hoops in recent years. Not only have they been two outstanding midfielders, but they are both leaders amongst the squad.

Brown’s departure will surely tempt Celtic to ask for even more for McGregor. Replacing both men would be incredibly tough for whoever comes in at Parkhead.

With Edouard also being linked with a move away, the incoming boss will be under no illusions regarding how much work there is to be done.

The one positive is if both Edouard and McGregor move on, the new Celtic boss should certainly have a significant amount of funds to stamp their mark on the squad immediately.
