According to a report from Talksport, Leicester could be able to land Odsonne Edouard from Celtic for just £25m either now or in the summer.
The report claims the Foxes are keen on Edouard, who has entered the final 18 months of his contract with Celtic.
Previous interest has been slapped away by the Bhoys, who were demanding around £40m in the summer when interest from the likes of Aston Villa and Arsenal was in the offing. However, Celtic’s financial woes, coupled with Edouard’s contract situation, means that Celtic could now be open to selling their talisman at a lower price of between £25-30m.
That could well be enough to tip the balance towards the Foxes, who will need to buy in the coming windows to ensure a smooth transition for when Jamie Vardy eventually runs out of steam.
Edouard has a sensational record with the Bhoys, having scored an impressive 72 goals for them. At just 22, he has time to adapt and develop further, too.
TBR View: Edouard fits the bill on all fronts for Leicester
The Frenchman has all the makings of being a top striker at the elite level and in terms of Leicester, he ticks the boxes.
He’s young, hungry, and proven at a high level, meaning his transition into the PL shouldn’t be too difficult. Brendan Rodgers will also know all about him you’d imagine, given his Celtic links.
Finally, at just £25m, Edouard could be a snip in the modern market. Goals cost the big bucks, and Celtic have a decision to make here.
