Leicester City have reportedly renewed their interest in highly-rated Germany Under-21 ace Ismail Jakobs, according to the Daily Mail.
The outlet claims that the Foxes are weighing up a summer move for the 21-year-old, who plays for Bundesliga outfit Koln.
However, Brighton are also said to be keen on Jakobs, who can play at left-back and further up as a winger.
The Seagulls have reportedly made enquiries about the player, who recently penned a new contract with Koln until the summer of 2024.
Jakobs is believed to have been on Leicester’s radar for over a year following his Bundesliga breakthrough last season.
He was nominated for the Bundesliga’s Rookie of the Year award alongside the likes of eventual winner Alphonso Davies and Erling Braut Haaland.
Jakobs came through the ranks at Koln and has made 38 competitive appearances for the club, including 18 this season.
Jakobs is a talented young player of the highest calibre who has been compared (Bundesliga website) to Inter Milan and Morocco star Achraf Hakimi, formerly of Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund.
Having penned a long-term contract just a few months ago, Jakobs won’t come cheap, but given how well he’s been doing and how much potential he has, he’s certainly a good shout for the Foxes.
