Report: Leicester confident of signing Celtic star Odsonne Edouard
Leicester City are set to win the race to sign Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard ahead of Liverpool and West Ham United, according to TEAMtalk.
The move will see the Frenchman reunited with Brendan Rodgers, the man who signed him for the Hoops in 2018.
Edouard has proved a revelation since signing for Celtic. In 166 outings for the club, he has bagged 82 goals and registered 37 assists.
During his time north of the border he has helped himself to three Scottish Premiership titles but now looks set to leave.
The 23-year-old will have just one year to run on his contract in the summer and this is Celtic’s final chance to get a decent fee.
During 2020/21, Edouard has found the net 21 times and he will arrive at Leicester as a fantastic prospect – and someone who could really thrive among better players.
The Foxes are on the cusp of qualifying for the Champions League and that will surely have played a part in Edouard’s thinking.
He’ll be desperate to test himself among Europe’s elite and former boss Rodgers can certainly offer him that.
The signing represents a real blow to Liverpool and West Ham, with Edouard unlikely to cost Leicester a fortune.
At Celtic, he earns £19,500-a-week and even with a pay-rise at the King Power Stadium, he’d still fit nicely into Leicester’s pay structure.

What a signing for the Foxes this could prove to be. Rodgers knows all about Edouard’s qualities and perhaps crucially he knows how to get the very best out of him.
Beating off competition from Liverpool and West Ham is massive and represents where Leicester are as a football club right now.
Edouard comes alive in the penalty area and also boasts tremendous determination qualities.
It’s early days but if Rodgers can get this deal over the line, it could be one of the signings of the summer.
