Report: Leicester City keen on Ozan Kabak, apparently liked by Jurgen Klopp

Leicester City are reportedly looking for a new centre-back and appear to have settled on an international team-mate of one of their current options.

The Daily Mail is reporting on Leicester’s interest in replacing the seemingly Chelsea bound Ben Chilwell with Ajax defender Nicolas Tagliafico. The same report also claims that Leicester now have Schalke defender Ozan Kabak in their crosshairs to strengthen at centre-back.

The report claims concerns over the long-term future of Jonny Evans could see Kabak targeted by the King Power club.

Eddie Howe To Newcastle Is EMBARRASSING

Kabak is a Turkish international team-mate of fellow centre-back Caglar Soyuncu which could surely help Leicester in their pursuit.

A recent report from 90min suggested Jurgen Klopp is a fan of the player and has viewed him as a potential replacement for Dejan Lovren at Anfield, after a tip from old friend and current Schalke boss David Wagner.

He would not come cheap. The 90min report stated that it would cost £40 million to secure Kabak’s signature, which would match the Foxes current transfer record, paid to secure Youri Tielemans permanently last summer.

It would undoubtedly be an eye-catching arrival from Leicester but in the current financial climate, it would be a surprise if Brendan Rodgers’ side ended up spending such a significant sum on a long-term project this summer.
