Reported Arsenal and Manchester City target Ryan Bertrand is set to make a decision on his future after the Premier League season finishes, according to talkSPORT.

The Gunners and the Citizens have been linked with the Southampton left-back, who will move on when his contract expires in the summer.

The Daily Mail claimed earlier this month that Arsenal had ramped up their interest in Bertrand, while the Etihad Stadium side remained keen on his services.

However, the latest reports suggest that Leicester City have emerged as frontrunners for the 31-year-old’s signature.

TalkSPORT claims that the FA Cup winners have offered Bertrand a one-year deal to join as cover and offer competition for James Justin and Luke Thomas.

It is also believed that Bertrand is waiting on the outcome of Leicester’s Champions League bid before making the final call.

The Foxes are currently fifth in the table, level on points with fourth-placed Liverpool, but the Reds have a slightly better goal difference.

In an ESPN article from 2018 about the state of left-backs in England, Michael Cox wrote that the “only real star is Ryan Bertrand, a truly excellent full-back defensively and offensively”.

A talented, experienced and home-grown player, he’d do a good job for all three of the clubs linked with him, providing cover on the pitch and knowledge and wisdom in the dressing room.
