Italian outlet Mondo Udinese have claimed that Leeds United have completely a deal to sign Burnley striker Matej Vydra in the January transfer window for a fee of £6million.
Vydra, 27, is completely out of favour at Burnley under Sean Dyche. The Czech Republic international is hardly getting a look in, with former Leeds striker Chris Wood and Ashley Barnes both in excellent form for the Clarets.
The Mirror claimed in their paper edition (November 22, page 74) that Leeds were eying Vydra ahead of the January window. It was believed that the Whites would have to pay a whopping £7.5million to sign the striker.
Leeds wanted to sign Vydra in the summer of 2018 before he joined Burnley for £11.5million. A move to Elland Road was on the cards, after he scored 22 goals for Derby in 2017-18 – but his wage demands scuppered a deal.
Now, if the report is to be believed, Leeds are set to finally get their man for a bargain £6million in January. Vydra is also capable of playing in the 10 role, and with Tyler Roberts injured, Leeds may have felt cover was required.

TBR’s view – £6m a bargain for Vydra, who could shine under Bielsa
Unfortunately, Vydra has never been given a chance by Burnley or Dyche in the Premier League, despite more than earning his stripes during 2017-18 with Derby. In the Championship, he is an excellent player.
Offering top-quality cover both up front and in the 10 role, the former Watford star is exactly the kind of player that could come on leaps and bounds under the guidance of Bielsa – like Kemar Roofe and Roberts have done.
At £6million, he is a bargain and could give Leeds all the tools to finally secure promotion.
