Victor Orta may have his eye on replicating one of the deals he completed in 2019, with The Athletic reporting that Leeds want Manchester City youngster Luke Mbete.
Ian Poveda is one of the few players to have been signed in a January transfer window during Marcelo Bielsa’s tenure.

The winger arrived at Elland Road last year. And while he only played a peripheral role in their promotion push, he has since been used on many occasions in the Premier League.
So it will be interesting to see whether Leeds look to repeat that move in one of the coming windows.

According to The Athletic, Leeds want Manchester City teenager Mbete. The report claims that they are monitoring the 17-year-old. Juventus are also said to be admirers.
Mbete was included on City’s bench for the weekend win over Chelsea. And according to The Athletic, he has been promoted to their under-23 side to speed up his development.
TBR View: City unlikely to let Mbete leave
The report does not suggest whether Leeds or Juve plan to confirm their interest with a bid. But it is certainly fair to say that the Whites have tended to prioritise bolstering their youth ranks in the winter window.
Having said that, City are surely going to have little interest in letting him go. His inclusion on the senior bench was a big statement – even with the problems the Cityzens are contending with currently.
Admittedly, Leeds have made some great additions to their under-23 ranks in recent years. And they have managed to sign players from their Premier League rivals.
Cody Drameh and Sam Greenwood arrived in the summer from Fulham and Arsenal respectively. So perhaps they may now consider trying their luck with Mbete.
