Report: Leeds want London-born star shining in Serie A, currently at AFCON
TuttoMercatoWeb report that Leeds United are interested in signing Torino utility man Ola Aina. The London-born star is currently at the African Cup of Nations, but Leeds are keen on luring him to Elland Road.
Aina, 25, joined Torino initially on loan in the summer of 2018 from Chelsea before signing permanently. But last season, he went on loan to Fulham where he impressed – scoring two goals in 33 league and cup appearances.
Now, Aina has returned to Torino – playing 18 times for his current side this season. He looks to be a regular part of the Serie A outfit’s starting XI again, but has now jetted off to represent Ghana at AFCON.
That has not stopped interest from Leeds and Marcelo Bielsa, though. The report simply states that Leeds have shown interest in the ex-Chelsea man, who joined Torino for a fee of £8.5million (Goal).
Aina to Leeds: He could be the club’s next Stuart Dallas…
Aina’s best trait is his versatility. Naturally a right-back, or a right-sided wing-back, Aina has been playing as a left-back or a left winger for Torino this season. He can play in any position, on the flanks.
Right-back, right wing-back, right wing and the same on the left. Much like Dallas. While the Northern Irishman can also play in the middle of the park, Aina would be a brilliant option to have from the bench to add cover.
TransferMarkt say Aina is represented by the same agency as Eddie Nketiah.
