Leeds United are one of the Premier League sides interested in signing Ivan Toney, with The Sun reporting that Newcastle also want the striker.
The Whites look to be stepping up their interest in a new goalscorer. Reports have claimed that they are close to agreeing a £21 million deal for Arnaud Kalimuendo.

However, they may be looking at other options.
The Sun reports that Leeds now want Toney. Jesse Marsch apparently views the Brentford forward as the perfect partner for Patrick Bamford.

Meanwhile, there is also interest from Newcastle in their former striker.
Toney was hugely impressive during his first full year in the Premier League, scoring 12 goals for the Bees. His performances played a key part in Thomas Frank’s men keeping themselves in the top-flight.
The Sun hints that Toney is valued at around £30 million. But you would surely imagine that Brentford will be holding out for a lot more.
Leeds want Ivan Toney
Signing Toney would be a real statement from Leeds. He has now impressed at every level he has played at. And he will surely have his sights set on stepping up further next year.
Brentford meanwhile, will be wary of being the side pundits mention in the same sentence as ‘second-season-syndrome’ next year. So selling their top goalscorer is clearly something they will want to avoid.
Thomas Frank labelled Toney ‘special‘. And it seems that Marsch is also a major admirer of the 26-year-old.
Leeds absolutely need to sign a new striker. And while Kalimuendo would be an exciting addition, Toney is not someone who would need to settle in the Premier League.
Certainly, it would be an amazing piece of business if Leeds signed Toney in the coming weeks.
