Leeds United are unlikely to rekindle their interest in Udinese midfielder, Rodrigo De Paul, according to a report from the Athletic.
The Whites were linked in the summer with a move for De Paul, but ultimately came up short with the Italian side asking for far too much money in the end.

However, talk in recent months hasn’t gone away when it comes to De Paul and Leeds, with the player seemingly still looking for a way out of the club. Indeed, Inter Milan are also said to be keen on the midfielder, too.
But the Athletic claims it won’t be Leeds who follow up their interest in the Udinese man. Their report states officials at Elland Road have played down any move for De Paul, while sources in Italy believe Leeds will steer clear of any future delve into the market for him after being knocked back before.

De Paul has been a regular once again for Udinese this season, scoring three goals in an impressive enough campaign once more.
Always unlikely, the fee is massive given what Leeds have already spent – TBR View
The reported £40m fee (90Min) was always going to be difficult for Leeds to meet. De Paul is a class act but the Whites have already spent a big chunk of change this past summer, meaning that sort of figure is probably out of reach.
It’s a shame because De Paul would probably have taken Leeds up another notch, given his qualities. But Bielsa will move on, he’ll have other targets in mind so don’t be surprised to see him pull a rabbit out of the hat in January.
