Leeds United will reportedly pay the £27m asking-price for Levante midfielder, Jose Campana, as Marcelo Bielsa looks to strengthen his squad ahead of the new season.
That is, according to Record, who claim the Whites are willing to beat Aston Villa to his signing by forking out the big asking price set by the Spanish club.

Campana is known by some in England for a largely unsuccessful spell with Crystal Palace. However, since then, he has excelled, finding his feet with Levante and going on to play over 150 times for the Spanish outfit.
But that form has seen interest once again emerge from England, with Villa and Leeds said to be keen. Leeds, in particular, are thought to hold a strong interest after just winning promotion.

Campana can play a variety of midfield roles if needed but operates predominantly as a deep-lying midfielder. He did, however, register seven assists last season for Levante.
£27m is a lot of money and would send a message, but do Leeds need Campana? – TBR View
It’s a valid enough question to ask, given that Kalvin Phillips pretty much has the holding midfield role locked down for the Whites.
However, as we all know, strength in depth is needed at Premier League level and Marcelo Bielsa will know full-well that he can’t expect to compete to the level he will want with his current squad.
Campana will bring class, composure, and experience to the Leeds squad. Furthermore, his versatility may come in use and also allow Bielsa to change his system if needed against the bigger teams.
