Leeds United have reportedly made a bid for Belgian defender Jordan Lukaku, but might have to battle with Brighton yet again to secure this transfer.
Il Messaggero is reporting that both Leeds and Brighton have bid €5 million (£4.6m) for the younger brother of Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku.
It follows a report from the end of last month from the same outlet that one of Andrea Radrizzani’s closest aides had asked Lazio about the availability of the attacking full-back.
Of course, Leeds United and Brighton have already been involved in a tug-of-war this summer over the future of Ben White. The former Leeds loanee has now signed a new deal at the Amex despite the Whites attempts to bring him in on a permanent deal.
Leeds currently have Barry Douglas as their proven left-back option, however the Scottish star spent most of last season on the treatment table.
That has seen the likes of Stuart Dallas and Ezgjan Alioski slot in and do excellent jobs in the role.
However, Leeds could certainly use another specialist left-back and Lukaku would be a perfect option, especially if available at such a low price.
